Clean floors with biodegradable products

Are you used to mopping floors with something that smells like chemical conifers? In that case, it will be easy to switch to biodegradable, foresty-smelling Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds. It is a multipurpose cleaner you can use on any kind of floor (even wood, if you dry them afterwards), in your tub or shower, on counters, to wash dishes, and to do your laundry. You might even be able to gargle with it, I dunno. I use it for mopping tile floors and occasionally washing clothes.

One scent I can't resist is lavender. Method makes a spray you can use on floors and counters, and it smells heavenly. The clementine-scented spray isn't bad either.

If you want something only for mopping floors, you could try a couple other Method flavors, like lemon ginger and ginger yuzu. A yuzu, according to Wikipedia, "is believed to be a hybrid of sour mandarin and Ichang papeda." So there you go.

If you have wood floors, you know they need a little bit more care than tile, laminate, or vinyl. I like Method's Wood for Good almond-oil based cleaner.

The almond oil fragrance might be a bit sweet for you, forcing you to lay off the Amaretto. In that case, Mrs. Meyers makes some wonderful all-purpose cleaners in a variety of scents, like lemon verbena, as well as basil, geranium, and lavender.

You can use these all-purpose cleaners on wood floors, but make sure they can air-dry quickly or dry them with a microfiber cloth after mopping.

When you're ready to clean floors, just spray or squirt and go to town!

Or have Minty the robot do it.
