Clean bathrooms with safe products

Bathrooms can get disgusting fast. Keep mold and mildew in the shower at bay with Earth Friendly's shower spray with tea tree oil. It has a very mild scent.

But Mrs Meyers Green Day toilet cleaner in lemon verbena scent tempts me into wanting to clean toilets for a living. After squirting it into the toilet, I turn on the vent fan and let the fragrance permeate the house. I like the scent so much I keep a bottle in each bathroom.

You can clean tile, laminate, and cultured marble counters with a variety of products. I like Method all-surface cleaner in lavender.

If you have granite or marble bathroom counters, try Howard Naturals Granite and Marble cleaner. It is nonabrasive, nonacidic, and has the irresistible fragrance of tangerine and sandalwood. Ommm....

For mirrors and shower door, you can easily make your own glass cleaner with vinegar. Vinegar is also great for soaking away lime deposits if you have hard water. I use it in the shower instead of bleach to kill mold and mildew. But hello-o-o-o; it smells like vinegar!

It's more fun (if not as cheap) to clean glass with something that smells nice, but is still safe to inhale. Once again, Mrs Meyers comes through with my favorite scent: lavender! It comes in my other favorite, geranium, basil, and lemon verbena, too. Much, much better than the chemical smell of Windex.

Tip: Do you keep your laundry basket in the bathroom? Even if you don't, grab a dirty (but not too dirty) T-shirt and use it with spray to wipe down counters, sinks, and faucets.

Most air fresheners smell either too chemically or too strong, so I'll have to try one of these.
